title: 2001: Chat not found. | API Docs
description: The chat is not available to this account.
---

**HTTP status:** `404`.

No chat with this id exists for this account and mode; a chat belonging to another account, or in the other livemode, answers identically. Nothing was read, sent or accepted.

## Troubleshooting

- Verify the chat id came from GET /v1/chats or a message this account sent or received, in the same livemode.
