title: 4005: Sending paused. | API Docs
description: Sending is paused for this account or number.
---

**HTTP status:** `503`.

An operator or automatic safety stop currently prohibits this send. Nothing was journaled, and there is no honest retry instant to quote because lifting the stop is an operator action.

## Troubleshooting

- Retry later with bounded backoff.
- Contact support if the pause is unexpected.
